Description

Presented as part of the ReOrientations: A Retrospective on the Works of Richard Fung with The Dr. David Chu Program in Asia-Pacific Studies at the Asian Institute, Munk School of Global Affairs.

Follow the history of the dish dal puri, from the original recipe carried by indentured workers from India to southern Caribbean colonies in the 19th century, to its voyage to North America in the 1960s. Dal Puri Diaspora is a remarkable journey across space and time, linking colonialism, migration and the globalization of tastes.

Director Richard Fung will participate in a post-screening Q&A.

In English and Bhojpuri, with English subtitles.
