In his directorial debut, Mike Myers (Wayne’s World,
Austin Powers) documents the astounding career of
Hollywood insider, the loveable Shep Gordon. After falling
into music management by chance after moving to LA
after college, Shep befriended Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison
and Jimi Hendrix. He managed rock stars including
Pink Floyd, Luther Vandross, Teddy Pendergrass and
Alice Cooper, then went on to work with chefs such as
Emeril Lagasse, ushering in the era of celebrity chefs
on television. Filled with fantastic archival footage
Supermensch traces Shep’s transformation from a 1970s
hedonist to a practicing Buddhist yearning for a family
of his own.
