Description

Films Changing the World: Must-see docs exploring new issues and transforming the way we see the world.

We are thrilled to offer Bloor Hot Docs Cinema members an opportunity to view the new, updated feature-length version of David & Me, presented in partnership with TVO.

David & Me follows the story of the friendship between inmate David McCallum, who was convicted of murder as a teenager, and Ray Klonsky, a tenacious Canadian filmmaker who takes up David's case to present compelling new evidence aimed at freeing him. Shortly after premiering at Hot Docs in 2014, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office contacted the filmmakers and new evidence revealed in the film was submitted. On October 15, 2014, David was fully exonerated and released.

Bloor members are invited to help us celebrate David’s release and hear his powerful story in person. Following the screening, David McCallum and the filmmakers, Ray Klonsky and Marc Lamy, will participate in a Q&A led by Steve Paikin, the host of TVO’s The Agenda with Steve Paikin.

Tickets: Members can reserve free tickets (one ticket per Bronze member, two tickets per Silver member and three tickets per Gold member) for this event online or in person at the box office, and purchase one additional $8 ticket to bring a friend. Sign in first to reserve your tickets.

Not a member yet? Become one today for access to this event, or see David & Me at a regular screening on March 20.
