Description

Before visiting the Jean-Michel Basquiat exhibition at the AGO, get to know the artist with Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child. Centered on a rare interview that director and friend Tamra Davis shot more than 20 years ago, this film chronicles the meteoric rise and fall of artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. At the height of his career he was 25 years old, and today his canvases sell for almost $50-million. With compassion and insight, Davis details the mysteries that surrounded this charismatic artist of enormous talent whose fortunes mirrored the roller coaster quality of the downtown scene he seemed to embody.

AGO curatorial assistant Magdalyn Asimakis will participate in a Q&A about the life and work of Jean-Michel Basquiat following the screening.
