Michel, a solicitor in Metz, loves his wife Hélène. He also loves to dress up as a woman. In secret, Michel becomes Mylène at the Epicéas, his private villa where he spends his weekends with his friend Jean-Marie/Flavia. At first harrowed by the narrow-mindedness and intolerance of the French bourgeois of the '60s, Michel slowly claims the rights to his identity. Soon his Epicéas becomes Villa Mimi, brightened by fun-loving same-minded men.
Mario Fanfani successfully captures the era atmosphere with superb cabaret numbers and a great cast. His captivating exploration of masculinity and femininity is inscribed in the Algerian War context the repercussions of which are still felt in France.
Beautiful, original, subtle, tender, noble, moving.

Beau, original, tendre, subtil, digne, poignant…
