PREEMPTING DISSENT
D: Greg Elmer | Canada, France, USA | 2014 | 41 min | STC

Screening with
TIL THE COWS COME HOME
Lenny Epstein | Canada | 2014 | 59 min | STC

These films highlight resistance tactics around the 2010 Toronto G20 meeting and the closing of the Kingston Prison Farm, respectively. Each film offers a candid snapshot of social upheaval as activists join forces to resist detrimental policies and the collusion of government and corporate interests. Preempting Dissent deftly examines the “Miami Model” of policing, while Til the Cows Come Home delves into the motivations behind those taking part in the demonstrations.

Filmmakers and subjects from both films will be in attendance for Q&As.
