Arcade Fire. Stars. Wolf Parade. Grimes. The list of Montreal artists that have become major forces on the world stage is so large it’s almost cliché. So what makes the island of Montreal such a fertile ground for talented and boundary pushing artists? A City is an Island takes us to clubs, concert venues and pop-up shows around the city where we meet musicians such as Mac DeMarco, Sean Nicholas Savage, Spencer Krug (Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, Moonface), Tim Hecker and Raphaelle Standell-Preston (Braids, Blue Hawaii). Discover new music and enjoy this one-way ticket to Montreal!
Blue Hawaii’s Alex "Agor" Cowan will get the party started with a live DJ set featuring improvised loops and compositions, along with jams from Blue Hawaii's acclaimed Blooming Summer and Untogether. Blue Hawaii has toured Europe, Asia and North America.
