Description

Doc Soup: Hot Docs' monthly screening series that presents Festival hits and award-winning docs.

Oscar®-winning director Louie Psihoyos (The Cove) embarks on an urgent mission to save endangered species in Racing Extinction. Never-before-seen images and footage reveal just how close we are to causing mass extinction, potentially losing half of all species by the end of the century. Using covert tactics and state-of-the-art technology, the team delves into the two worlds driving extinction—the dangerous international black-market trade of endangered wildlife and the disastrous environmental consequences of human activity. Emotional and inspiring, Racing Extinction is a wakeup call to preserve a thriving planet before it’s too late.

Co-producer Gina Papabeis will be in attendance to introduce the film and take part in post-screening Q&As.

Doc Soup subscriptions for the 2015-16 season are now available.

Single Ticket: $16
Bloor Member Ticket: $12, $10, $8
Student Same-Day Ticket: $8 (with valid student ID, Wednesday 9:15 p.m. screening only)

Racing Extinction will premiere later this year on Discovery in a worldwide broadcast event.
