Jayu Festival: Using art to share human rights stories and lay the groundwork for positive social change.
When a young Egyptian woman travels from her village to Cairo to add her voice to the tens of thousands of Egyptians demanding an end to 60 years of military rule, she is arrested, beaten and tortured by security forces—and later punished and imprisoned by her family for daring to speak out. But in her search for freedom, she is buoyed by the activists she meets along the way.

This short film tells the story of the Syrian struggle for freedom as experienced by a 32-year-old rebel fighter and a 24-year-old female journalis in Aleppo. This film explores why the Syrian people are fighting for their freedom, told through the emotional words of two powerful characters.
