Discover Ontario: Explore the province with fascinating docs and special guests. In this screening, visit Sarnia.
In this soulful portrait of Sarnia, the city's long-suffering petrochemical workers reveal the importance, and meaning, of community. Amidst the bright sprawl of petrochemical plants, swollen hospital wards and crowded bars, the residents of Sarnia battle chronic illness and the decline of good jobs. Tattooed men serving fries, basement musicians, volunteer firemen and an optimistic mayor—the lives of a diverse medley of characters intersect to reveal the dramas and contradictions of an industrial town.
Director Brett Story will be in attendance for a post-screening Q&A.
