One night, three brothers fled their home in Tuscany—hiding in a cave in the Tuscan woods to escape the Nazis. Seventy years later, the three brothers set out together on a journey in search of the cave that holds their memories. But more than a search to find a geographical location, the brothers are on their way to locate the common ground of memory, the nexus where the conflicting versions of their stories can come to rest. Their quest, full of humour, bountiful food and stunning Tuscan landscapes, straddles the boundary between history and myth. The result is a profound portrait of memory and history.
