True Crime Tuesdays: All is not what it seems in this six-part doc series, all accompanied by special guest discussions.

In the spring of 2009, a Guatemalan lawyer recorded a video in which he predicted that he would soon be murdered at the behest of the president, and encouraged fellow citizens to stand up to corruption. Mere days later, his bullet-riddled body was discovered by the side of the road. This chillingly prescient video spread like wildfire, sparking a massive investigation and an even bigger political movement—but the story becomes even more bizarre as the investigation turns up shocking new twists. Director Justin Webster’s documentary unfolds like a Hollywood thriller as each shocking new piece of information is revealed.

David Ridgen of Someone Knows Something on CBC will be in attendance for a post-screening Q&A moderated by film critic and author Geoff Pevere.
