Choir! Choir! Choir! co-presents this special presentation of a SXSW 2017 hit! Memphis power pop band Big Star have been labeled "one of the most mythic and influential cult acts in all of rock & roll" (Rolling Stone). In 2010, leading man Alex Chilton passed away days ahead of a performance at SXSW. In Thank You, Friends, some of the world’s top musicians gather in concert along with members of the band to celebrate Big Star’s musical legacy with a special performance of their acclaimed album, Third. Featuring R.E.M., Wilco, Yo La Tengo, Kronos Quartet, Robyn Hitchcock, the Posies and more.
