Description

This Film Should Be Played Loud: See new, classic and rare concert films on the big screen.

Iggy Pop narrates the epic story of Northern California’s pivotal role in evolution of punk rock—full of lurid never-before-told stories and incredible footage of parties you wish you could've been at. Green Day (an executive producer of the film), Dead Kennedys, Rancid, NOFX and more eagerly tell how East Bay punks responded to a culture of corruption and racism by creating a fun and inclusive style of music. Banding together around Berkeley’s all-volunteer 924 Gilman Club, this diverse collective of misfits formed a do-it-yourself petri dish of music with graduates of this experiment—including Operation Ivy, the Offspring and even the filmmaker Miranda July—going on to shape culture worldwide.
