Description

Poetically and emotionally illuminating the reality of people amidst the Venezuelan crisis in Caracas where crime, poverty and political tension are on the rise, Le Soledad is set just outside the city where a decrepit villa symbolizes the changing times. Filmmaker Jorge Thielen Armand returns to the dilapidated home his great-grandparents used to live in, now occupied by a childhood friend searching for a treasure rumoured to have been buried in the walls. This crumbling building, with old portraits still hanging on the walls, is evidence of the disappeared wealth and the desperate struggle to survive faced by subsequent generations following its original owners.

Director Jorge Thielen Armand will be in attendance for a post-screening discussion.
