Description
Welsh musician Gruff Rhys (Super Furry Animals) documents his latest musical road trip, retracing the fantastical American exploits of his distant relative, 18th-century explorer John Evans. Setting out in 1792, Evans was searching for a tribe of Welsh-speaking Native Americans rumoured to be descendants of an ancient Welsh prince. Rhys decides, more than 200 years later, to recreate his ancestor’s journey on an Investigative Concert Tour™, a series of gigs he performs accompanied by an acoustic guitar, a PowerPoint presentation and a felt puppet representing Evans. Myth, music and Rhys’ deliciously dry sense of humour combine in this film, part of a unique multimedia project comprising film, book, album and app.
