Description

Ban This Series: Documentaries from the seven countries included in the travel ban enacted by executive order on January 27, 2017.

Witness the Arab Spring in Yemen with startling immediacy through the eyes of a 35-year-old tour guide named Kais. A thoughtful family man who eagerly and endearingly shares his innermost concerns, Kais is doing his best to keep his business alive in the face of escalating unrest. Initially, he has mixed feelings about the revolution, but his position shifts as life grows tougher in the flailing economy. Kais gives filmmaker Sean McAllister unparalleled access, affording the viewer a direct encounter with protests at 'Change Square' in Sana’a and the growingly tense atmosphere as social unrest boils over in the city.
