Featuring:

Island Crimes (Frequency Podcast Network)
Each season of this true-crime podcast focuses on one crime story based on Vancouver Island. In its second season, host and veteran journalist Laura Palmer speaks with family members, community leaders, psychologists and the RCMP to put together the mystery of men who have gone missing on the Island in recent years. 'Island Crime: Gone Boys' raises a discussion about the challenges facing men who are isolated and marginalized due to trauma, mental illness, or disability. Could the 'us versus them' attitude of the public on the island be creating easy victims whose disappearances go unnoticed by many?

PlayME (CBC Podcasts)
PlayME transforms the way we experience theatre by turning contemporary plays into bingeable audio dramas. Hosted by Laura Mullin and Chris Tolley, the podcast connects Canadian playwrights with an increasingly global audience. You'll hear an excerpt from The Other Side of the Game, Amanda Parris' Governor General's Award-winning portrait of the Black activism in the 70s.

Suave (PRX/Futuro Media Group)
The U.S is the only country in the world that allows minors to be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Approximately 2,500 juveniles have been effectively sentenced to die in prison — considered “irredeemable” by the state for crimes committed when they were just teenagers. One of them was David Luis “Suave” Gonzalez, who entered prison at 17 expecting to leave in a coffin. Suave tells the story of what happens when your whole world is a prison cell, and you suddenly get a second chance at life.

Originally broadcast on Friday, January 29 at 3:00 PM. Watch on demand until February 28. Closed Captioning will be available on the reording up to 72 hours after the event wraps.
