Shekinah takes us into the rarefied
world of young Hasidic women living
what some consider an 18th-century
way of life in 21st century Québec.
With unprecedented access, Shekinah
explores the women’s perspectives.
Their relationships with men are based
on the Kabbalah, they see God as both
masculine and feminine, and they
believe marriage is pre-ordained in
heaven. Their revelations break longstanding
stereotypes and unveil the
secrets of this mysterious world.
Film subject Chanie Carlebach will be
in attendance.
Tickets: $17, $12 (students and seniors)
