Bloor Takeover: A prominent writer, artist, or personality takes over Bloor programming for a night, letting their imagination run wild.
Get ready for a rockin’ afternoon at the Bloor as
Girls Rock Camp Toronto takes over the cinema.
The event kicks off with a screening of the film
Girls Rock!, followed by live performances by Girls Rock Camp Toronto alumnae Deanna Petcoff
(Pins and Needles) and Brighid Fry.
In Girls Rock! young females from eight to 18
are taught that it’s o.k. to sweat, scream, and wail
on their instruments. In one week they select
a band, pick an instrument, write a song and
perform a concert!
Girls Rock Camp Toronto offers girls and female-identified
youth aged eight to 16 of all musical
abilities and economic backgrounds a safe space
to learn an instrument of their choice, get creative
and develop skills that will last them a lifetime.
A portion of proceeds will support Girls Rock
Camp Toronto.
