Films Changing the World: Must-see docs exploring new issues and transforming the way we see the world.
An expert logging engineer who could no longer bear to destroy the forests he loved, Grant Hadwin felt the most radical anti-deforestation act would be to cut down the sacred Golden Spruce on Haida Gwaii. Set in the midst of British Columbia's lush and undeniably precious old growth forests, Hadwin's Judgment shows what's truly at risk with extraordinary imagery. Director Sasha Snow interweaves speculative re-enactments, Haida legends, interviews and stunning cinematography to explore what led to Hadwin’s unprecedented crime.
Producer Elizabeth Yake will be in attendance for a Q&A following the screening.
