Description

Music on Film: Inspiring music docs of all genres paired with special guest speakers selected by The Royal Conservatory of Music.

Meet the renegades who are looking to disrupt classical music’s reputation as a stuffy genre for the high cultured elite. From composers flirting with modern mediums, to young musicians dedicated to changing the narrative, to a man who works with tabla players and turntablists, What Would Beethoven Do? brings audiences into the cutting edge of the genre. From an international choir connected by YouTube to a string quartet paired with a DJ, this doc brings a high-energy, optimistic look at the exciting revolution that looks to bring classical music to a 21st century audience.

Includes a post-screening Q&A with director/producer Jonathan Keijser and those on the forefront of the classical music revolution: Skratch Bastid, Dinuk Wijeratne and Afiara Quartet. Moderated by Mervon Mehta, Executive Director of The Royal Conservatory of Music's Performing Arts Division.

Tickets: $16 (Members: $12, $10, Free) or attend all six Music on Film screenings for $63 (Members: $54, $42, Free).

Presented with The Royal Conservatory of Music.
