On the anniversary of Prince's passing, join us in paying tribute to an icon of electrifying proportions at our annual screening of the enduring masterpiece Purple Rain. From its reverential opening in which Prince and The Revolution erupt into “Let’s Go Crazy,” to its emotional climax when our hero belts out the title track awash in hues of amethyst, Purple Rain was made for big screen viewing. Set against the gritty 80s subculture of the Minneapolis music scene, Prince plays “the Kid,” a struggling musician who must navigate an abusive relationship with his father as he falls for the beautiful Apollonia.
