Description

Errol Morris Retrospective: In conjunction with The B-Side, we celebrate and screen the auteur's major works.

Errol Morris’s 1988 masterpiece created something beautiful out of a horrific real-life event—and even went on to effect real change. Billed as "the first movie mystery to actually solve a murder," The Thin Blue Line is credited with overturning the death sentence conviction of Randall Dale Adams for the murder of a Dallas police officer. With a mix of artful re-enactments and captivating interviews, Morris explores the circumstances that led to this wrongful conviction. Combining a superb score composed by Philip Glass and mesmerizing editing, the audience is pulled into a maze of unreliable witnesses and fuzzy evidence.
