Young lovers Jens Soering and Elizabeth Haysom were arrested in London in 1986 for cheque fraud—only to arouse suspicion when their love letters linked them to the gruesome murder of Elizabeth’s parents a year prior in Bedford County, Virginia. Extradited to the U.S., both have been in jail ever since, but Jens maintains he plead guilty to the murders out of love for Elizabeth, and to save her from the electric chair. Killing for Love reveals all the bizarre twists and turns of this dark love story, featuring actors Daniel Brühl and Imogen Poots reading the chilling letters.
Co-directors Marcus Vetter and Karin Steinberger will participate in a post-screening Q&A with film critic and author Geoff Pevere.
