Art in September: Let Hot Docs be your refuge for art for art’s sake.
In 2013, Norway celebrated the 150th anniversary of the birth of Edvard Munch, one of the towering figures of modern art, with a massive exhibition. This film goes beyond The Scream and takes you behind-the-scenes with an in-depth biography of Munch, who lived from the mid-19th century through to the German occupation of Norway in the Second World War. With expert insight from special guests and host Tim Marlow, this is a sweeping overview of master’s life and work. Co-hosted by the National Museum and the Munch Museum in Oslo, Munch 150 showcases more than 220 of this revered artist’s paintings.
