Two groups of young men—made up of musicians, college students and record collectors—travel to Mississippi at the height of the 1964 Freedom Summer. Each had come on the same mission: to find forgotten blues giants Son House and Skip James. Their astonishing search will collide with one of the most crucial moments in civil rights history. Set at the height of the 1964 Freedom Summer to the sounds of the Delta Blues, and narrated by rapper/actor Common, this new doc from Academy Award nominee Sam Pollard is a colourful travelogue across the American South and an inspirational story about music's power to change the world.
Director Sam Pollard will participate in a Skype Q&A following the screening.
