Description

We’re proud to be screening this heartwarming documentary as our closing film of the Doc Soup season. Based on Andrew Solomon’s bestseller, Far From the Tree is a wide-ranging look at parents taking on the challenges and the joys of raising children with extreme differences. Taking on the unique struggles such as Down syndrome, autism and dwarfism, director Rachel Dretzin shows how families cope with courage and love. Parents share their stories in intimate, heartening interviews that will have you call into question exactly what is "normal."

Filmmaker Rachel Dretzin will join us via Skype for a post-screening discussion at all screenings.
