Known for his visionary literary works such as House Made of Dawn and The Way to Rainy Mountain, Pulitzer Prize winner N. Scott Momaday is celebrated as one of Native America's most important authors of poetry and prose. His works solidified his place as the founding member of the "Native American Renaissance" in art and literature, and his inspiration and influence has had a wide-reaching effect on a generation of Native American artists, scholars and political activists. Having its world premiere at this year's Sundance Film Festival, this visually cinematic biography guides audiences on a spiritual journey over the expansive landscapes of the West through Momaday's words and writings, which are rooted in his Kiowa ancestry. Through historical photos, original animation and captivating interviews with Robert Redford, Jeff Bridges, Beau Bridges, James Earl Jones and Joy Harjo, the film explores ancestry, place and oral history through the experiences of this storytelling master.
