Sterlin Harjo (Muscogee Creek/Seminole) is an award-winning filmmaker, known for his powerful work in both fiction and documentary. For over a year, he followed some of the most influential Native American artists through their careers, both in the USA and abroad. Love and Fury features Laura Ortman, a musician and composer who performed at the 2019 Whitney Biennial; artist and composer Raven Chacon; famed poet, musician and author Joy Harjo; singer and guitarist Micah P. Hinson; multidisciplinary artist and musician Nicholas Galanin; and Bobby "Dues" Wilson, co-creator of the famed comedy group the 1491s, to name a few. In the exquisite style of Harjo’s work, the narrative is a gentle reveal, moving between the vast array of genres these artists work in, the professional roadblocks they face as Native Americans and their unapologetic desire to break boundaries in contemporary society.
