Description

Flannery O’Connor transformed 20th century literature with her gothic vision of the American south. This first-ever documentary portrait explores the life and legacy of the literary icon against the backdrop of the rural Georgia farm where she grew up and later wrote some of her best-known short stories and novels. Never-before-seen archival footage, newly discovered personal letters and original animations help craft an intimate and lyrical picture of the enigmatic woman behind the words, along with conversations with those who knew her and those inspired by her, including Mary Karr, Tommy Lee Jones and The New Yorker’s Hilton Als.
