On the foothills of Himalayas, by the banks of the beautiful Ganges River, you’ll find the town of Rishikesh: home to the spiritual sanctuary that awakened The Beatles to the practice of transcendental meditation. Derelict for decades, the ashram of Hindi guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi is brought vividly back to life by filmmaker Paul Saltzman, who photographed the Fab Four during their infamous 1968 visit. Retracing his own spiritual journey alongside the band’s, Saltzman also explores how the music and philosophy of India profoundly impacted The Beatles’ songwriting from "The White Album" and beyond.
