One a musician and the other an interdisciplinary artist, Tyr and Jasa grew up in a household where art was a way of life. Join the quirky siblings as they journey from Montreal to Iceland to explore their family’s creative roots, collaborating on a performance that brings together their disciplines and cultural heritage. Part documentary, part eye-popping animated film and performance, Sisters: Dream & Variations is an inspiring look at the artistic approach, its various forms and how it can simultaneously express and explore who we are.

Tyr et Jasa ont grandi dans un milieu d’artistes où la création était un mode de vie. Tyr est aujourd’hui musicienne et chanteuse tandis que Jasa est artiste interdisciplinaire. Inspirées par les enregistrements de chansons folkloriques islandaises interprétées par leur arrière-grand-mère, leurs pratiques artistiques puisent à la fois dans leur imaginaire coloré et leurs racines familiales. Cette démarche les pousse à entreprendre leur premier voyage en Islande, pour collaborer à un projet qui combine leurs disciplines artistiques et leur héritage culturel. Nous plongeons dans monde onirique fait d’animations, de performances et de cinéma-vérité, Sœurs : rêve et variations pose un regard inspirant sur la démarche artistique de deux sœurs dont les manifestations sont autant de variations sur l’affirmation de soi, la fantaisie, le rêve.
