2021 Canadian Screen Awards Nominee! Extended to April 14

Amid a global reckoning with systemic racism, policing and inequality, this searing exposé urges us to examine the consequences of police violence in our own backyard. Despite its relatively low crime rates, Calgary has more officer-involved shootings than any city in Canada, and in 2018 it had more fatal police shootings than either Chicago or New York. Calgary-born-and-raised filmmakers Marc Serpa Francoeur and Robinder Uppal deftly unravel the intertwining stories of three individuals who were the victims of extreme force at the hands of police officers, exposing a criminal justice system that has failed to hold its officers accountable.

Featuring a special post-film Q&A with co-directors Marc Serpa Francoeur and Robinder Uppal, hosted by For Viola programmers Dawnalda Brennan and Julian Carrington.
