Description

At the tender age of 12, Dima heads home after being arrested and jailed in an Israeli prison. She's reunited with her family and catapulted into a media spotlight, where she shares her ambitions to stop soldiers from terrorizing her community. Her best friend Janna shares the same perspective, posting videos online documenting what happens on the ground in Palestine and how people are being treated on their own soil. The two grow up together in a culture stifled by three generations of Israeli occupation, and although they love sleepovers and playtime, they also feel a strong obligation to fight for their country. Following their lives as they grow from preteens to young adults, this documentary takes a firsthand look into the political, mental and personal costs of growing up in Palestine. Samah Ali
