Artscapes: Creative minds, artistic pursuits and inventive filmmaking

Man in the Field is an artistic and culinary experience that sketches the portrait of Jim Denevan, a pioneering American multimedia artist known for his land-based installation art composed of sand, ice and soil. Massive in size and fleeting in their permanence, his otherworldly, intuitive artworks are born from a familial history with mental illness. Craving both the connection of community and the introspection of solitude, Jim fuses his artistic practice and his career as a chef into a movement called Outstanding in the Field. With dining tables set in breathtaking landscapes from beaches to vineyards, Jim creates immersive artistic and performative dining experiences by bringing people together to feast at the source of where their food is grown.
