Though her life was cut short at 42 years, Divine packed it full of punches, becoming the larger-than-life star of John Waters’ raunchy, LGBTQI+- classics like Pink Flamingos, Female Trouble, and Hairspray. I Am Divine is a love letter to and celebration of an outlandish artist, tracking her humble beginnings in Maryland to worldwide recognition as a cinematic daredevil. Featuring appearances by fellow Baltimoreans and collaborators like Waters, Ricki Lake, Tab Hunter, and Mink Stole, I Am Divine peels back the many costumed layers of a once-in-a-generation performer.
