Gholam has been erased. All that remains is a 1988 photo with his face scratched out. As filmmaker Pegah Ahangarani discovers, dissidents disappeared in alarming numbers in the difficult years after the Islamic Revolution in Iran. Their stories can only be recreated by seeking out the places filled with their absence.
