An activist, and pioneer in the Black beauty industry, Desmond opened the doors to the first beauty college in Halifax for Black students, and helped blaze a trail for Nancy’s Workshop. Enjoy an intimate Sunday at Nancy’s salon in Montreal, where she teaches young Black girls to love and care for their natural hair. Viola Desmond may be the face on the ten dollar bill, but her legacy is priceless.
