The evening will begin with a tribute to the late filmmaker and conservationist Rob Stewart by George Stroumboulopoulos, who will present the first annual Rob Stewart Youth Eco-Hero Award to Jonah Bryson. Following that will be a presentation of the annual Planet in Focus film awards and the screening of Can You Dig This? by Delila Vallot, featuring the charismatic "Guerrilla Gardener" Ron Finley. After the screening, Ron will be presented with Planet in Focus’ 2017 International Eco-Hero Award in recognition of his revolutionary work turning food deserts into food forests. He will give a talk at the Closing Night Gala, followed by a discussion moderated by Festival Programmer Julian Carrington.
