When a famed composer and the child of Austrian Nazis, Georg Friedrich Haas, and a renowned African-American kink educator, Mollena Lee Williams, fall in love, they enter into a complicated relationship exploring race, sexuality, politics and power relations through BDSM and a master/slave power dynamic. But when they willingly place their relationship into the public spotlight in a New York Times article, their private life falls under public scrutiny. Some believe them to be revolutionary, while others call them perverted, questioning how Georg can call himself a feminist if he wants to dominate his wife, and how a Black woman can voluntarily accept such a submissive role. Together they move forward through their own discovery of radical self-definition, defying stereotypes as they explore self-acceptance and love through partnership, art, love and creativity.
