As the addiction crisis on our own soil continues to raise alarm, we look at an inspiring story of a courageous advocate fighting the growing epidemic in Afghanistan. A fierce woman and self-described bad-ass, Laila Haidari has made it her mission to provide much-needed treatment and housing to those willing to leave that life behind. Her work takes her deep beneath Kabul Bridge, to a place where Afghan women and men come to take drugs and forget the hardships of their lives. With numerous challenges and lack of support from the government, Laila refuses to give up her cause.
